A good wedding planner becomes your own personal assistant. This is your wedding and a good planner knows that. A good planner won't see you as a bridezilla, she/he understands just what this day means to you.
Finding that person takes time. Interview potential planners as you would if you were choosing a personal assistant to work closely with you. Choose one who you feel an easy connection with.
Credentials are important too, but you want to develop a close relationship with your planner through the experience so feeling comfortable with them and enjoying their company is important too.
You want them to be on your side and have your back. So use some of those same instincts you have for choosing friends when looking for your planner.
