Wedding Wednesday Tip from the Pros

Tips on Candy Stations

One of the most popular trends in today’s weddings is the candy station! If you are interested in doing your very own candy station here is some helpful suggestions…
  • Please keep in mind that a candy station is an added expense to your wedding planning budget.
  • A great candy station is complete with a fabulous theme and is full of candy!
It is suggested to choose anywhere from 5-10 types of candy and at least 15 pounds of each type. This may seem like a lot of candy but in reality it will make a presence and will look as though you took the time to really plan your station out.
Now some questions to ask yourself:
  • What type of candy do I want at my candy station?
  • What type of theme am I looking for?
  • What color scheme would you like the station to have?
After the types of candy, theme and color scheme have been mapped out you must then move on to how you would like to display the candy. Clear glass containers are the best for letting your guests see what you have to offer. To make it more appealing use containers with different shapes and height. You may even want to raise some of the containers with lifts to really give your station some height.

How are your guests going to take the candy away? Take out containers to match your wedding color scheme or clear cellophane bags could be a great option. Lastly, a special touch you can add to the bag or container that your guests take come is a sticker to make it personalized.

Make sure you have fun with it! Good luck!

Wedding Wednesday Tip from the Pros

Double Duty Gifts for Bridesmaids

{via}
We all know that wedding expenses can be overwhelming! *shiver*  For the sake of your budget, consider combining the gifting traditions to one unique and personalized gift for your bridesmaids that can also serve double duty as the jewelry she'll wear in your wedding. A necklace, bracelet, or earrings with her engraved monogram is unique to your bridesmaid, formal enough for your wedding, and something she will definitely wear after the big event. Monogrammed jewelry is both classic in its tradition, and trendy in its updates - Many pieces are available in several different metal finishes to suit every budget. Consider sterling silver plating as a metal finish which 1/3 the cost of sterling and just as durable and beautiful. Other affordable metal options are a high polish pewter, this is not your grandma's pewter, it is a quality high polish metal that looks identical to sterling silver. Also consider Tumbaga, a beautiful affordable option to Gold. Tumbaga is a mixture of gold and other gold color alloys and is of a higher quality than vermeil. With so many options and styles available in personalized jewelry, you can easily keep your attendants gifts within budget. Plus, it doesn't hurt to ask the seller for a quantity discount and any other offers like discounted or free shipping for multiple pieces of jewelry.

For some couples, a wedding cake is just another detail to cross off the mile-long to do list. For others, however, it's a big decision that requires some thought. And with the dizzying array of options out there, thanks in part to wedding cakes becoming firmly ingrained in pop culture (thanks, Ace of Cakes!), it can be a little daunting to decide just what kind of statement you'd like to make with your cake...especially when said cake can set you back some major cash. Wedding Wednesday Tip from the Pros

Roles for non-Jewish family and friends at a Jewish or interfaith wedding

Here are some roles that you can give to honor non-Jewish family members or friends during a Jewish or interfaith wedding ceremony:

1. Recite one of the seven wedding blessings in English.
2. Hold the bride's train as she circles the groom.
3. Hold one of the huppah poles.

Lets hear it for the boy: Before “I do,” comes the “Will you?”

No, this isn’t a tribute post to Deniece Williams, although I do think she is pretty fantastic. Rather, this is a nod of sincere acknowledgement, respect, and most importantly, an offer of assistance, for those of you men preparing to make one of the biggest and best decisions in your life: asking the love of your life for her hand in marriage. Wedding Music Planning During Dining

Wedding Music Planning Tip: Have some high-energy dance segments in between courses and alternate them with more mellow music while your guests are dining. Mention this to your DJ/band so that they will let you know approximately where the speakers will be before you make your final seating arrangements.

Picture it…your wedding day. What will you be wearing? What will your flowers look like? I bet every one of you has some notion, however vague, of what your wedding day will look like. What you may not know, however, is how much planning and organizing is going on behind the scenes. You are not supposed to know! It’s your special day and ideally your wedding party and family can help to make it a very smooth process. One of the most important people in your bridal party is your MOH–the Maid of Honor. Her job is to take care of you and to help you pull all of your plans together to create that dream day.

HOWEVER…… [Read More....]
